Flower Care

ONCE YOU GET HOME

• Please do not leave your flowers in a hot car.

• The most important thing to keep your flowers fresh is to start with a clean vase or jar at home. Using hot soapy water or even a touch of bleach to clean it after each use is super important. Bacteria in the water clogs the stems ability to take up water and will reduce vase life.

• Give the stems a fresh cut at a 45 degree angle before putting them in the clean vase(s) at home. This maximizes the surface area for water uptake.

• Be certain there are no leaves below the water line in the vase. This will cause the water to build bacteria quickly.

• Changing the water every 2-3 days and giving the stems a fresh cut on the bottom, help the flowers to last longer. If you wouldn’t drink the water, your flowers won’t want to either.

• Keeping the flowers away from direct sunlight will also extend their vase life.

• Take lots of photos of your arrangements and be sure to tag us! @sugarmillfields #sugarmillfields

Meet Duana

One dog, two cats, three acres, and one determined woman make up Sugar Mill Fields.

Duana’s love for Christmas trees and the beauty of nature set her on a four year journey to find her perfect place, Sugar Mill Fields.

Here families can pick their Christmas trees and grab a hand made garland and wreath.

Teachers can bring their students to learn about the seasons of farm life and the migration of Monarch butterflies.

You can pick a bouquet of seasonal flowers to brighten your day or attend one of the many events throughout the year.

Duana is also a photographer and offers sessions to capture the smiles that are sure to cross your face when you visit.

At Sugar Mill Fields the flowers are always blooming, the bees and butterflies always have a home, the Christmas trees are always growing, and the community is always welcomed with a friendly smile.
